T-mobile ‘Little ones’ ad
In my four years in advertising, I have worked under one of Africa’s strongest telecommunication company called MTN , but T-mobile with their ad campaign for the super bowl brought a creative insight to what the power of connection can stand for and because the super bowl represents the American culture, this was a good season to slide in the speech of equality.
I was impressed by the direction the ad took in allowing us to understand we are equal and because of that, we all should be treated fairly by every individual. Looking at the babies’ expression I was reminded of different personalities…
“… It’s a lot to take in…”
The baby crying, wondering what good does the world has to offer
“…We are equal…”
The baby looks a little like Gandi Mahatma. The famous Indian human-rights activist.
“… Some people may see your differences and be threatened by them…”
We see how Asians kids stereotyped as math geeks and have mainly negative repercussions for it as immigrants in daily interactions.
“…but you are unstoppable…”
the baby with the Superman pose.
“…you will love who you want…”
In 2018 love has no boundaries. Love is kind, strong, faithful and real.
“…You will demand fair and equal pay…”
The bold baby rising up her blanket. No one can tell her to stop.
“…you will not allow where you come from to dictate where you are going…”
Black lives will always matter in fighting for equal rights against racism.
“…you will be heard, not dismissed, you will be connected not alone…”
Why some popular Asian countries are not given the freedom to connect through social media to share their global opinion and express their views.
Change starts now
T-Mobile has given us the same network to connect, its left for individuals not to put our requests on hold, but give us the same chance to express out potentials of greatness. Change starts now, Are you with us?
